Born in New York City, Nicole Peskin studied art at Wellesley, but found herself drawn to MIT's Center for Advanced
Visual Studies. There she became intrigued by possibility of using technology in art. From Cambridge, she traveled
to the Navajo reservation to absorb and reflect the power of the stunning desert environment. She continued her
education at the University of Arizona, where she did graduate work in Set Design. There, she learned to weld and
began making delicate lamps and furniture, which led to her attending the Penland School of Crafts to learn
Blacksmithing. Now, in her studio in Pittsfield, she creates sculpture and furniture from scrap metal and glass. "Going
to the scrap yard is like going to CHURCH. It seems the universe and me are in sync in the locus of a scrapyard."

Nicole Peskin's artistic style is protean. Her work runs the gamut from
minimalist and geometric to sinuous and spiky. It also ranges from the
classical -- a graceful screen adorned with dancing muses reminiscent
of an ancient Greek frieze -- to the modern; an aggressive looking
chair that might have popped out of one of Picasso's cubist works. Her
set design plays with light, shadow, shape, and space.

Interdisciplinary artist Nicole Peskin is pleased to be able to join Group W in its
cavernous heavy metal environment.
"There is much about producing art that I enjoy and can not explain. I do provoke a
specific drive to repetition and process. I enjoy the line, emphasize extrusion from the
plane and stray from complexity.  My palette invites mediocre materials and I indulge in
the interface of technology.  My body yearns for the acquaintance of new materials and
tools. I wouldn’t say I am  a painter or a sculptor or an installation artist I would just say I
am a student  experimenting. I love making ART and when applicable I try to be a bit of a
sustainable and green artist.”

He currently lives in the Berkshire Hills with his wife and two daughters.   He enjoys experimenting with many different
art forms. One of Jerid's main attractions to the process of making art is his love for repetition. At his young age Jerid
has already determined that his future is in art and design. His current work is large and small, for galleries and for
the streets, with technology and with out technology. The truth of the matter is he loves to create. He lives to create.
